The Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a non-profit Academic Research Body associated with the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). ICCS is governed by a five member Board of Directors, coordinated by the Director of the Institute elected by the Faculty of NTUA. It has been established in 1989 by the Ministry of Education in order to carry research and development activities in the fields of all diverse aspects of telecommunications, computer systems and techniques and their application in a variety of areas, including software and hardware engineering, telematics and multimedia applications, transport applications, wireless communications and networks, control systems, etc. The groups which participate in the proposed activities belong to the NETwork Management & Optimal DEsign Laboratory (NETMODE – http://www.netmode.ntua.gr) and to the Image, Video and Intelligent Multimedia Systems Laboratory (IVML, www.image.ICCS-NTUA,gr) of NTUA.
NETMODE staff consists of two Professors, six full-time/Post-Doc researchers and more than twenty Ph.D. students. Furthermore, its key personnel have extensive academic, research and industrial experience, while have held several administrative positions in research and development centres and laboratories. IVML was established in 1989, in the School of Computer and Electrical Engineering and the Institute of Computer and Communication Systems of NTUA. The members of the Lab which are about 35 include research scientists, researchers, Ph.D. students, programmers, and supporting staff.
